Dr. Schutz, Partner to Specialist Dealers and Professional Craftsmen

Established in 1955, -Dr. Schutz GmbH is now enjoying its second generation of private ownership under the management of the Schutz family. The enterprise has always seen itself as a partner to tradesmen and craftsmen. Incorporating high-quality cleaning and care agents together with the appropriate systems, Dr. Schutz products are making a significant contribution to the fact that different floor coverings including PVC, linoleum, carpeting, laminate and wood are able to maintain their value over a long period of time for the tradesman and the end user alike.

In addition to manufacturing and marketing cleaning and care products, Dr. Schutz GmbH, Bonn, sees its main task in the development and advancement of its products, particularly in collaboration with the producers of floor coverings and recognised research and test institutes. This accounts for the high quality standard of the products and the company's corresponding advantage over its competitors with regard to innovation. Dr. Schutz-branded products have always served to maintain the value of floor coverings and are now recommended by numerous leading manufacturers at home and abroad.

Nevertheless, Dr. Schutz continues to take environmental protection into consideration. Environmentally compatible raw materials form the basis for production. Dr. Schutz was the first manufacturer of cleaning and care products to be awarded the European Union's Ecological Audit Certificate way back in 1996 for the company's location at that time in Bad Pyrmont

With its move in the year 2000 to its new production premises in Hessisch Oldendorf / Lower Saxony, the Bonn-based enterprise prepared itself to meet both customer demands and future market challenges.

The new factory incorporates both the production plant and the research and development department in addition to the application technology facilities.

In the meantime, Dr. Schutz is producing not only for the German-speaking market but also for the whole of the Europe and for several non-European countries too.

In the year 2001, the (administrative) headquarters moved to a new location within the city of Bonn. At the same time, the Bonn-based enterprise established the training academy "Dr. Schutz-Schulungsakademie für Handel und Handwerk". Specialist seminars are held in generously proportioned rooms to bring the know-how of specific target groups on the maintenance of floor coverings and extended service programmes up to the latest standard by way of practical training measures. The company's team of international field sales advisors provides intensive assistance for Dr. Schutz specialist dealerships and professional craftsmen as well as competent support for the customer.

A further highlight is the new direction taken by the company to include the restoration of wooden and cork floors. At the beginning of the year 2002, Dr. Schutz started to supply specialist dealerships and professional craftsmen with "everything from under one roof" with the introduction of a full programme of lacquers, oils, preparatory materials, sanding machines and accessories. Dr. Schutz GmbH was the first enterprise in Europe to be given certification by the German Technical Supervisory Body "TÜV" for its product system covering wooden floor lacquers, oils, care products and accessories.
